You froze. Every parent does, I see you
They asked how the baby got in there, and your brain went white. Maybe the stork came out. Maybe “in mommy's tummy.” Maybe “ask me when you're older,” and they never asked again. You are not alone. Most of us grew up in homes where nobody said these words out loud.
Here is the thing. Most books are written for your kid to look at, not for you to say. And this question almost never comes at a time you planned. It comes in the cereal aisle, in the bath, or at 11 PM in your bedroom doorway. You don't need a chapter to read first. You need the right sentence, right now.
No lecture to plan. No one big awkward “talk.” Just one true sentence for their age, then you stop where they stop. Short, true answers keep the door open, so the next question comes to you, not to a kid at recess.

What you get
Here is what you actually get
- 30 word-for-word scripts: 10 topics, each written for ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-10, because a 4-year-old needs one sentence and a 9-year-old needs the whole story
- 16 moment cards for the questions you can't plan: they walked in on you, a tampon at the checkout, dogs at the park
- 12 kid question cards for the ones that catch you off guard, like “Did it hurt when I came out?”
- The “I Already Said the Stork” Repair Guide, so you can fix the stork, “tummy” or “wrestling” tonight
- Scripts for your partner, grandparents and sitters, so every grown-up uses the same words
- Fill-in cards for your family's values and your child's own story. The cards teach the biology. You add what you believe.
- Same real names and same no-secrets rule as The Body Safety Talk, so the two Talks work as one
- Instant access on your phone, or print at home. 90-day money-back guarantee.

What's actually on the cards
80 cards, sorted by topic, by age and by moment. These are three real cards, word for word. Tap to see the back.
For the moments you can't plan
It never happens at a good time
16 moment cards for when it comes out of nowhere. Each one gets you through the first 30 seconds, then gives you the calm talk for later.

A big question in public
“HOW did the baby get in your tummy?” Checkout line. People are listening.

They walked in on you
The door opens. You have about three seconds.

They found a tampon
Held up like a rocket. “What's THIS?”

A pregnant aunt
“Aunt Jess is having a baby.” The questions start at dinner.

Animals mating
Two dogs at the park. “What are they DOING?”

A word from school
They came home with “sex,” or a worse word.

Your C-section scar
Spotted in the bath. “What's that line?”

Grandma's stork story
Grandma told the stork. Your kid shouldn't have to pick a side.
Short and true beats long and soft
Most of us were told the stork, or nothing. So when our own kid asks, we reach for a cute word or a cover story. It feels kinder. It usually backfires. When we read 175 real parent stories, plain true answers worked 21 times and backfired zero times. Cute cover stories backfired 5 times, and some left a kid sure that Mom ate the baby.
Every script card works the same way. First you ask one question, so you know what they already think. Then you read 1 to 3 true sentences for their age. Then you stop. If they want more, the next level is right there on the card. If they go back to their Lego, you're done. That's a win, not a missed chance.
You don't need to feel comfortable first. In a study of parents with kids aged 3 to 10, a short course made parents better at these talks, and their comfort didn't change at all. They still felt awkward. They did it well anyway.
And your family's beliefs belong in this talk. The cards teach how bodies work, privacy and safety. The values card is where you write what your family believes about marriage, faith and when sex is right. One line stays the same in every family: “No matter what we believe, you can ask me anything, and you will never be in trouble for a question.”
“Stop where they stop. You can come back to the rest.” It’s printed on every script card, and it’s the most useful line in the deck.
How it works
Simple enough to use tonight
1Pick their age
Every topic comes in three versions: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-10. Grab the one for your kid.
2Read the card
Ask the one question at the top, then read the words in quotes. No prep, no training.
3Stop where they stop
Done after one sentence? That counts. Come back to it in a few days with the line on the back.
What changes, and when
From “the stork” to “ask me anything”
Tonight
One true answer
Read the Ask-Me-Anything card. It takes 2 to 5 minutes, depending on age, and it sets the one rule every other card leans on.
Week 1
The 7-Night Plan
One short card a night, in the right order for their age. By night 7 they know the real words, where babies grow and how they come out.
Month 1
They bring it to you
That's the goal: the next question comes to you, not the playground. When a moment hits, you grab the matching card and answer in 30 seconds.
The people behind it
Built by people who needed this too
Trailies isn't a worksheet from a stranger. It's the script two people wished they'd had, made with the clinicians who know what actually works.

I spent years watching good parents freeze at the exact moment their kid needed words. So we wrote the words down.

Nobody handed my parents a script. I built the one I wish they'd had, so the next kid gets the talk instead of the silence.
Every deck and script is built with child psychologists and grounded in PCIT, CBT, and 200+ studies.

we're a church family so i was nervous it would push someone elses values on my kids. it doesn't. the cards teach the biology and you write in what your family believes on your own card. my 7yo loved the body picture game, even the 4yo can say uterus now no big deal

i grew up in a house where nobody ever said any of this out loud. i wanted different for my kids but i didnt have the words either bc nobody gave them to me. reading off a card is allowed and that changed everything for me

my 5yo is a why kid. i love that every card has "stop where they stop." sometimes he wants 3 levels, sometimes he wants one sentence and his trucks. both are fine, both count. that took all the pressure off
